Australian Antarctic Territory (AAT)

 

 

Australian Post Offices are on Macquarie Island and at the base camps of Mawson, Davis (Closed 1965-early 1969) and Casey. Former bases were at Wilkes (Closed Jan.1969) and Heard Island (Seasonal only). Stamps of Australia were used before 27th March,1857 and remained valid for use after the introduction of Australian Antarctic Territory issues. Dates of Issue: the dates given refer to dates in Australia. Local release dates are usually later.
